Support us in the coming weeks through our Winter Campaign 2017. Shardie Thomas-Ezell, Art Teacher at Bret Harte Middle School, recently brought her class to the museum and writes “It saddens me that the majority of my students live in poverty and for many of them it was their first time even visiting San Francisco (although it’s only 15 miles away from Oakland).” CCM was able to provide a fee-waived field trip so that Shardie’s students could experience the creative, innovative, and imaginative exhibits.
Over the past year, we have provided over 3,000 visitors in need with free admission. We also served over 5,000 participants from under resourced schools with over 150 field trip scholarships. There are more children in need, but we need your help! In this coming year we want to:
- Provide scholarships to 160 classes in under-resourced schools
- Launch a pilot program to provide low-income field trip attendees with free family passes
- Provide 50% of summer field trip students with scholarships
- Expand more opportunities for low-income families to experience CCM for free
Our Winter Campaign 2017 goal is $30,000 in order to reach these important milestones. Give the gift of creativity today especially for children who may not be given many opportunities otherwise. In this season of giving, make a lasting impact to shape the future of a child and our community!
