Welcome to the Children’s Creativity Museum’s Summer Camp page! Learn about our robust lineup of summer camp programming that serve children from ages 3-12. Give your child the opportunity to explore their creativity through art, playwriting, engineering electronics, musical theatre, dinosaurs, super heroes, and more! Register now, space is limited!


 Bay Area Children’s Theatre Musical Theatre Camp – Annie Kids’

Session 1  |  June 5 – 16, 2017  |  9:00am to 4:00pm  | Entering 2nd-6th Grade  |  Tuition: $695

This fast-paced musical theatre camp takes campers through daily fun and engaging rehearsals as we prepare for a fully produced show. Working with a director, choreopgrapher, and music director, campers learn vocal technique, basic dance vocabulary, and storytelling. Staff place an emphasis on building a strong ensemble who support each other on and off stage and use the craft of theatre to help campers build life skills such as creative thinking and problem solving, empathy, and self-confidence. In addition to rehearsals, campers play theatre games, and have outdoor breaks for snack and lunch.

Creativity Camp: ART LAB

June 12-16, 2017  |  Ages 3-5* 

Nurture your child’s creativity this summer through songs, stories, games, and sensory-based art. Art Lab will build children’s creative confidence, encourage exploration of new sensory experiences as a group, and help children learn through artistic play.

HALF DAY (9:00am to 1:00pm): $250 (members), $265 (non-members)/ week
FULL DAY (9:00am to 3:00pm): $350 (members), $365 (non-members)/ week

*Children must be potty trained, no exceptions. Proof of age required.

Play-Well Super Hero Engineering using LEGO®

June 19 – 23, 2017  |  9:00am to 12:00pm  |  Ages 5-6  |  $200/ week

Save the world with LEGO® Super Heroes! Build the hideouts and vehicles of your favorite caped crusaders and learn what makes them not only Super Heroes, but Super Hero Engineers! An experienced Play-Well instructor guides young heroes as they design, build, and save a city where ingenuity and imagination can solve any conflict.

Play-Well Super Hero Master Engineering using LEGO®

June 19 – 23, 2017  |  1:00pm to 4:00pm  |  Ages 7-12*  |  $200/ week

LEGO® Super Heroes need your help to defeat the destructive forces of evil arch-villians as they threaten LEGOpolis! Explore the tools and techniques of your favorite caped crusaders and learn what makes them not only Super Heroes, but super engineers. An engineering curriculum designed by Play-Well challenges heroes to design, build, and save a city where ingenuity and imagination can solve any conflict.

 Bay Area Children’s Theatre: Little Performers Camp

June 19 – 23, 2017  |  9:00am to 3:00pm  |  Entering K – 1st Grade  |  $400/ week

Play games, sing songs, create characters, tell stories! In this one-week camp, we will explore theatre through fun activities that will help teach the basics of drama while engaging the imagination. The camp will finish with a final sharing on the last day of camp where all campers get to show off their new skills.

Maker Camp

June 26 – 30, 2017  |  9:00am to 4:00pm  |  Ages 8-12*

Kid’s will embrace their inner maker with an assortment of tools to construct things and tinker with the materials of clay, sound, paper, code, and cardboard to engineer and create amazing pieces of work. Learn basic electronics such as lighting up LEDs, making musical switches on the MaKey MaKey with conductive materials, and code Dash and Dot through a series of challenges! Build sculptures that move with clay, paper, and cardboard, and even add electronics to enhance them.

$475 (members), $500 (non-members)/ week

 Bay Area Children’s Theatre: Improv Explosion Camp

June 26 – 30, 2017  |  9:00am to 3:00pm  |  Entering 3rd – 5th Grade  |  $400/ week

Introducing the newest addition to our summer theatre camp experience focusing on improvisation and storytelling. We will dive into the collaborative world of creating an original piece of theatre from the ground up! Through basic improv skills, theatre games, story building workshops and artistic collaboration, our actors will construct their very own unique theatre experience. The week will culminate in a final sharing for friends and family. Emphasis will be placed on building a strong ensemble and exploring artistic creativity.

Creativity Theater Playwriting Camp

July 10-14, 2017  |  9:00am to 4:00pm  |  Ages 8-12*

Explore the world of Playwriting! Theater games will inspire campers to come up with their own fun characters. Writing exercises will provide campers with the basics of story structure. We will introduce the concepts of character objectives, obstacles, metaphor, and conflict resolution. Each camper will develop her/his ideas into their own two-character, ten-minute play. The week will culminate in readings of all the plays by special guest actors on the Creativity Theater stage.

$375 (members), $400 (non-members)/ week

Girls in S.T.E.A.M.

July 17 – 21, 2017  |  9:00am to 4:00pm  |  Ages 8-12*

Girls S.T.E.A.M. camp is designed to offer exciting hands-on learning projects that will empower girls to creatively express themselves and develop skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Design, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) fields. Each day, campers will engage in challenges that introduce girls to solving problems by building moving inventions, learning to code and program robots, conducting experiments in a science lab, creating interactive art work with electronics, and more! Girls will present their projects and process at the end of camp, providing a rich experience in leadership.

Bring Minecraft to life using LEGO! Resourcefulness, creativity, and cooperation come together in this unique building adventure game; roll the dice to mine for resources, and use these resources to build special items to help in our adventures! Build a Zoo, create a Medieval Castle, and design a Tree House Village! This LEGO experience is an original game designed by Play-Well instructors inspired by the popular game, Minecraft. Students will have a blast, even without any prior experience with Minecraft or LEGO!

Play-Well Mine, Craft, Build: Survival Game using LEGO®

Bring Minecraft to life using LEGO! Play-Well Jedi Engineering using LEGO®

July 31 – August 4, 2017  |  9:00am to 12:00pm  |  Ages 5-6  |  $200/week

The Force Awakens in the introductory engineering course for young Jedi! Explore engineering principles by designing and building projects such as LEGO® X-Wings, R2 Units, Energy Catapults, Defense Turrets, and Settlements from a galaxy far, far away. Create motorized and architectural projects with imagination and engineering to defeat the Empire!

Play-Well Jedi Master Engineering using LEGO®

The Force Awakens in this advanced engineering course for young Jedi! Discover key engineering concepts such as gear trains, worm drives, pneumatics, and eccentric motion. Build LEGO® X-Wings, AT-AT walkers, Pod Racers, Star Destroyers, Settlements, Fortresses, and other complex machines and structures from a galaxy far, far away.

Creativity Camp: DINOSAURS

Stoke your child’s curiosity and imagination this summer with Dinosaurs! Through fun stories, songs and activities, kids will learn more about the prehistoric reptiles that once ruled the earth!
