Support CCM and Sustain Access for Low-Income Families

Together, What Will We Create?

Our world has changed immensely since 1998 when we first opened. And yet, through it all, our commitment to nurturing creativity and collaboration in all children and families remains. A generation of children has grown up animating, designing, and performing in our museum and theater. Many of these children are now the creators, inventors, and leaders - and in some cases even parents! - shaping our society.

As we celebrate our 25th Anniversary, the Children’s Creativity Museum serves as a new model for children’s museums. Young people are empowered to create and collaborate using analog and digital tools. Families from diverse backgrounds have safe spaces in which they laugh and find common ground. Everyone has a place where their stories and ideas matter - and what we envision for our collective future becomes possible. Our core values of equity and co-creation along with authentic relationships we’ve developed over time allow us to share unique, urban insights with regional and national networks. Together, we will lay the foundation for our future and for all of San Francisco.

Help Us Celebrate!

Our year-long celebration kicks off on October 14, 2023, with a public groundbreaking ceremony, showcasing the facilities improvements we’ll be making thanks to an $800,000 State of California grant championed by Assemblymember Phil Ting, Senator Scott Wiener, and Assemblymember Matt Haney.

Events throughout the coming year will provide opportunities for artists, educators, and innovators to share memories of their time with us over the last 25 years with today’s generation of visitors. Highlights include:

  • Our 25th Anniversary exhibition (Summer 2024)
  • A capstone fundraising event (October 2024), in tandem with the anticipated completion of our facilities improvements
