The Children’s Creativity Museum offers a range of workshops designed  to spark the imagination, introduce innovative tools and methods, and encourage visitors to take creative risks and try new things.

 

DIY STUDIO WORKSHOPS   |   ages 3-12

MAY STUDIO THEME: SPACE

May 2 – 31  |  10:00am to 4:00pm
In this drop-in studio children will create their own rocketships to blast off into space. Explore a variety of materials and techniques to create your own upcycled spacecraft.

Designed in partnership with TinkerLab, these hands-on workshops held in our Imagination Lab inspire children ages 3-12 to imagine, create, and share using a variety of materials and recycled objects.

Workshops are drop-in and free with paid general admission.

DIY ARTIST OF THE MONTH: Megan Leppla

May 12 & 19  |  12:00 to 3:00pm
Join our Artist-of-the-Month Megan Leppla and explore the use of positive and negative space with spilled ink. By embellishing ink blots, children can create new creatures or even an alternate universe!

DIY Artist of the Month workshops are drop-in and require no additional payment or registration. Artists lead visitors ages 3-12 through project-based workshops to create multimedia artwork, learn new tools, and practice critical thinking and problem solving.

CLOUD GALLERY WORKSHOP | ages 3-12

THEME: Under the Sea
Artist Curator Fatimah Guienze

WORKSHOP DATES:
Every Saturday and Sunday, April 28 – May 20, 2012
12:00 to 3:00pm

Join us as we create camou-fish out of recycled CDs and learn how patterns help fish hide in their environments. We’ll explore texture and color with color paper bowl jelly fish, and create schools of paper plate fish. Come add your own special leaf to the Giant Sea Kelp Forest and create your own underwater story in our waves of sea shanties.

This workshop will emphasize the power of collective art through a fun investigation of the ocean and its critters.
