Digital Zine

Students will learn the basics of digital imaging, layout, and page design to create a collaborative class publication, a multi-page Digital Zine.

At the beginning of the Digital Zine Field Trip, the entire class will select a centralized topic or theme. Afterwards, the students will break in small groups to explore their chosen theme through poems, essays, illustrations, photos, and digital collages. The students work together as Art Directors and Designers to create their own unique zine content.

All of the small group projects ultimately will be compiled into one large class Digital Zine that represents the creativity and different points of views of the class. By the end of the field trip, the students will have experienced the step-by-step process for developing a print production – from the initial concept to the finished physical product!
