LET’S GO! EXPLORING TYPES OF TRANSPORTATION

 Join us in our DIY Studio throughout the month of September for a series of workshops exploring different types of transportation including buses, trains, boats and cars.

Group time with live music, collaborative storytelling, and movement.

Join us for a hands-on, play-based workshops designed to build creative confidence in children ages 5 and under. This program provides a variety of developmentally appropriate opportunities for young children.

In addition to independent exploration, each workshop includes body movement, live music, and collaborative storytelling. The inclusion of free-play allows children to explore at their own pace, while the group activities provide opportunities for focused learning, collaboration, and social and emotional growth. The program content draws inspiration from Reggio and Montessori learning approaches, and is evaluated by early childhood experts to assure that it is age appropriate and developmentally valuable.

Wednesdays through Sundays – 10:00am to 4:00pm | Patio

Pour, drizzle, drip and splash with our new water wall.
Create a momentary masterpiece by painting with water on slate.

SESSION #1: MESSY ART

Messy Art

EVERY WEDNESDAY  |  10:00am to 11:00am  |  OCTOBER 7 – NOVEMBER 11
Immerse your children in a world of artistic sensory exploration and introduce them to a variety of ways to create. Be prepared for a new messy art activity each week where kids will build creative confidence, explore new sensory experiences together, and learn through artistic play. Space is limited, Registration is required. (Ages 2 to 4)

Members $72, Non-members $150 (6 sessions)

These workshop sessions are part of our Early Childhood S.T.E.A.M. series, which introduces age-appropriate activities to nurture a love of learning in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.

SESSION #2: ADVENTURES IN SCIENCE

Science

EVERY WEDNESDAY | 10:00am to 11:00am | JANUARY 27 – MARCH 2, 2016
Enjoy fun, science-based activities designed to encourage curiosity and hands-on exploration. During this six-week series, we’ll discover how to inflate balloons without using our breath, how to create a tornado in a bottle, how to turn Ivory soap into fluffy “clouds” and more! With the help of stories and songs, questions and unique sensory experiments, Adventures in Science will nurture your child’s inner scientist, as well as your own inner child! Space is limited, pre-registration is required. (Ages 2 to 4)

SESSION #3: BUILDERS & MAKERS

EVERY WEDNESDAY | 10:00am to 11:00am | MARCH 9 – APRIL 13, 2016
Join us for an exciting engineering workshop designed to promote discovery and exploration through building and making. Children will exercise their imaginations and create their own inventions. Each class will be guided by a marvelous children’s book to inspire your little one while they design and construct bridges, trains, robots, and more. (Ages 2 to 4)

SESSION #4: LITTLE ARTISTS

Early Childhood Education, Painting projects for kids

EVERY WEDNESDAY | 10:00am to 11:00am | APRIL 20 – MAY 25, 2016
In this creative, process-based art workshop, children ages 2 to 4 are invited to discover their inner artist while learning about the works of great artists like Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Each week includes hands-on art experiences, fascinating facts about famous artists, and inspiring children’s literature. Come collaborate and create with your little one! Space is limited, pre-registration is required. (Ages 2 to 4)
