EARLY BIRDLES WORKSHOP

Wednesday-Friday, 10:00-11:00am  |  Members: FREE / Non-members: $15

Early Birdles is a hands-on play-based workshop designed to build creative confidence in children ages 5 and under. In addition to independent exploration, each hour-long workshop includes movement, live music, and collaborative storytelling.

Join us every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in our imagination lab for a hands-on, play-based workshop where you and your child can explore our multimedia approach to creativity.

This program was developed with input from early childhood experts and draws inspiration from Reggio and Montessori learning approaches.  The program combines structured group time, consisting of music, dance and storytelling, with a free play environment that allows children to explore a range of materials, exhibits and activities at their own pace.

Our Early Birdles program is made possible in part through the generous support of the Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation.

Story Lab
Every Wednesday  |  3:00-3:45pm
Celebrating your child’s natural creativity and imagination while helping them build classroom readiness skills. Activities include imaginative story creation, collaborative music making, and active dance and body movement. (Ages 3-5) Drop-in.

Early Explorations in Science
Every Friday  |  11:00am-12:00pm
Join us for a hands-on introduction to fundamental science concepts. These drop-in workshops are perfect for children ages 5 and under. There’s a new theme each month — mix, mush, experiment, explore, and make a mess in the name of science! This month we will study Bubble-ology, learning about surface tension, air pressure, light and prisms — all while having fun playing with bubbles! Drop-in.

Color Me
Every Saturday  |  10:30-11:00am
Awaken your child’s imagination and promote freedom of expression in this creative movement workshop. “Color Me” uses sensory-based activities and visual aides to explore the dynamics of movement through interactive story time, theatrics, music and dance. (Ages 0-5) Drop-in.

*NEW* Early Childhood DIY
Every Wednesday-Friday  |  10:00am-12:00pm
Drop-in the DIY Studio for facilitated weekday workshops. Children will experiment with a variety of materials and take home their creations. This month we will create mystery drawings by rubbing crayons, paint and chalk over a variety of items. (Ages 5 and under)
