DIY Artist of the Month – November 2011
November 12 and 26 10:00-1:00pm
Project Overview: PATTERN Living in a world full of pattern, from Fibonacci’s sequence to our plaid shirts, we rarely realize the divinely intricate motifs around us! Come indulge and explore the fascinating world and history of repeat pattern with the Museum of Craft and Folk Art’s educator Callen Zimmerman. We will play with stamps and rubbings and make our own patterned paper in the style of Ogee, Damask and Paisley. Contribute to a large-scale group fabric project and get your own educational and fun zine! As we learn to see our world though patterned lenses, we will discover the connections to textile history, math, science, anthropology and creativity!
