Welcome to the Design Studio! Here, families can experiment with a variety of digital tools. Create a digital “spirograph” with SILK, and use a computer in a whole new way with Leap Motion!
Our staff of educators are available to help when kids are just starting out, and there are no limits to the projects. Consider combining your Design Studio activity with other experiences: Create an album cover for your music video, draw a poster for your clay animation, or design an advertisement for a Mystery Box Challenge invention. Photoshop and Silk Images can be printed out or emailed home for you to share with your friends and family. Ages 5+
COMING TO CCM SUMMER 2015: ROBOT CODING
Introduce your child to computer coding in a new exhibit opening this summer at the Children’s Creativity Museum. This experience will be available for all visitors and is included in the price of museum admission. Drop-in workshops aim to introduce computer programming to children as young as 3 years old in a fun and hands-on way. Activities, such as charting obstacle courses for a robot using simple commands, aim to promote creative problem solving in novice programmers. More experienced coders can program robots to respond to sensor input and use loops to avoid obstacles. Grown-ups are expected to learn a thing or two as well!
